Did you go to camp when you were young? What
do you remember? Swimming? Games? Hiking? At Camp America, children enjoy
every kind of camp activity - but what our campers remember most are the
relationships.
For generations, Camp America has been run by our family - and it's run like
a family. By listening carefully, we learn a lot more about campers than
just names; we get to know their habits, fears, behavior, and stories.
Knowing the children well helps us create an environment bursting with fun,
values and learning.
Friendships formed between the campers, the camp staff, and parents turn the
uncertainty of time away from home into the thrill of discovery and new
experiences. And those friendships last a lifetime. We're still close to
many campers we first met decades ago. We see them again and again, as they
enroll their own children at Camp America.
Of course the camp has changed over the years; now our activities involve
computers and the latest in recreation and the arts. but the core of
Camp America hasn't changed a bit. It's still about welcoming children into our
family. Please come out to see for yourself!
Warmly,
Norma, Steve and June
